How is Genre used in Film Openings?

Each film opening will be different from the other but we will be able to see some similarities within the same genres. If we look at the horror genre the film openings will usually start with dark lighting and some kind of gore or blood scene. The title will also contain some sort of reference to this and will foreshadow the impending threat which our protagonist will have to face in the near future. The music and sound design also tell us about the genre since most will have dark, creepy and unsettling music. This all helps create an enigma in the audience and hooks them to the film making them want to know more and engage in the world.
